Codependents Anonymous Service Structure

What and When is Convention?

The CoDA Convention is where co-dependents meet to celebrate their recovery.  The Convention is usually held every two years, but has not been on a standard schedule last several years.

Who can attend?

Basically anyone can attend.  However, if you are not co-dependent, many of the workshops may not be of interest to you.  But you do not have to hold any type of position with CoDA or your local CoDA meeting.

How do I get informational packets for CSC?

Whenever a Convention is held, certain information will be placed on this website for your information.

The committee rarely sends out official packets, only giving information on this website.

How do I register?

Please see next column!

If there is no registration information in the next column, then it is not available yet.

2009 CODA CONVENTION

“Independent and Free”

You are invited!   So mark your calendars!

CoDA Inc. is delighted to announce the CoDA International Convention, which will be held July 9 - 12, 2009 in Seattle, Washington. Though July 2009 may sound like a long ways off, it’ll be here before you know it. Early registration is suggested to guarantee your space. Located South of downtown Seattle is an absolutely wonderful setting for the CoDA community and other 12 Step programs to come together to share our experience, strength, and hope.

Why a Convention? The convention provides the forum for those in recovery to come together in fellowship to share our stories, to share the joy that recovery brings, to experience new levels of awareness, and opportunities to grow in our recovery with the support, love, and understanding of other’s working their program. As we work the Twelve Steps and follow the Twelve Traditions, we seek to manifest the 12 Promises in our lives. In so doing, our goal is to experience Knowing a New Freedom in the here and now. We are discovering a whole new way of living, grounded in truth, a newfound joy in living in the moment. We open our hearts to the light of wisdom, the warmth of love and the joy of acceptance. The Convention venue will include a wide array of workshops, opportunities for prayer and guided meditation, personal time for silence and reflection, and ample time for fun, fellowship, and laughter.

Seattle is known for its great coffee and is called “The Emerald City.” We have a wide variety of entertainment and recreational destinations with natural environment and scenery.  You must not miss Pike Street Marketplace which has the best shopping in the Northwest with local artists, historical/cultural events, the first Starbuck’s coffee house and museums.  Take a great ferry ride over to one of the small islands near by or go to the top of the Space Needle at the Seattle Convention Center.  All who visit fall in love with the “Great Northwest.” Come discover Seattle in fellowship with your family and friends in recovery at the 2009 CoDA International Convention! You’ll be glad you did!

So mark your calendars for July 9 – 12, 2009!

Register on-line, download the registration form or ask your local CoDA community for information.

See you really soon in Seattle, Washington in 2009!
