Creation, Translation, Publication and Distribution of CoDA Literature

Step 12

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other codependents, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Tradition 5

Each group has but one primary purpose -- to carry its message to other codependents who still suffer.

Literature has always been very helpful in the process of carrying the message.  Attending group meetings provides a place to share our experience, strength and hope.  Literature allows us to study at our own pace.  In order for CoDA to create, translate, publish and distribute literature, CoDA, Inc. has established the Literature and the Translation Management Committees.  It has also created agreements with others corporations and service entities to assist in the distribution of literature.

Each of these, and their functions, are described below:

Literature Committee (lit@coda.org):  Creates and revises CoDA literature that is printed in English.

Translation Management Committee (tmc@coda.org):  Assists CoDA and other Countries in translating literature for use in languages other than English.

CoRe, Inc. (core@coda.org):  CoRe is the main publishing and distribution arm of CoDA, Inc.  It has rights to publish and distribute all CoDA Literature within and outside the US.  The predominate languages of this literature are English and Spanish.

CDRS (cdrs@coda.org):  Co-Dependents Recovery Society has a publishing and distribution contract with CoDA, Inc. for English materials in Canada.

CoDA-Deutschland:  CoDA-Germany has a publishing and distribution contract with CoDA, Inc. for the German CoDA book in Germany.

DAA:  CoDA is working with DAA for a translation, publication and distribution contract for French materials in Canada.

CoDA, Inc. board:  The board works with other Countries to develop publishing and distribution agreements within other Countries.  The cost to mail literature from the US to other Countries can be half to twice the cost of the literature.
