I write to feel better about myself. I write to know how I feel, and I write to be whole. I write because it is the music of my soul. I write because I get spiritually and mentally muddled when I don’t. I write to know my mind. I write to find my feelings because they can be so intense and foreign like ships in the night on a churning black sea with no moon. Writing down my feelings puts the moon back in the scene, spotlighting my pain and shame and calms the waves rocking my boat. Writing is the North star guiding me to the shores of Coda reason, self-awareness, and healing.
