OUR GIFT IN OUR PAIN
Who do we trouble with the pain –
That encircles around us,
Watching for its chance to pierce
The very essence of our livelihood?
Our happiness so to splatter
All over our friends and loved ones,
In an escapade we did not bargain for.
We come to meet, we struggle and look down,
beat our fists, then finally reach out to others –
others present here of like mind,
and speak out, "No! Happy I will be,
Serenity is becoming of me, every Step of the way."
"I will to be sane, to let go of this pain…
to be vibrant, hopeful and life-giving.
And this is what I have to give!"
